Spanish wine producers discover new export opportunities

Currently, the majority of Spanish wines are sold abroad. The rapid growth of wine on tap and demand from abroad seemed to have passed Spanish wines by. These producers took a long time finding their way to export markets but this changed. More and more countries including the US, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Sweden are now embracing Spanish wines for their quality and unique branding.

Finca Los Aljibes

An example of a company that is actively following this trend is the famous Finca Los Aljibes winery. The company is actively investing in developing exports and is taking full advantage of the wine-on-tap trend. Finca Los Aljibes currently exports a wide range of its red, rosé, and white wines to countries like the US, Ireland, and Sweden. Manuel Lorenzo Morante, owner of Bodegas Los Aljibes, talks about his experiences:

“We travel all over the world and take a lot of interest in our business partners. What is important is that we don’t just proudly tell them about our fabulous wines, but we also listen to their insight. Every customer has their own wishes and needs. It’s up to us to create the right offer with the right price and quality to meet those needs. The packaging is definitely a large part of it. With KeyKeg, we can be distinctive and stand out in the market. Exports of our wines are rapidly growing. We export about 30% of our wines right now. We expect to see that grow by about 10% a year. I see a lot of export opportunities for Spanish premium wines. There’s enough proof out there that it’s possible.”

Here at KeyKeg, we look forward to seeing the continued growth of Spanish wine exports.
