Einstök is a popular craft Icelandic beer, brewed by Vifilfell, the biggest exporter of Icelandic beers. The secret of their success? An Icelandic water source with a unique balance between calcium and magnesium, and exactly the right pH values. Vifilfell exports its beers to various European countries and North America.

Lightweight Containers asked Gudjon Gudmundsson, managing director of Vifilfell, about his experience with the new KeyKeg automatic filling line: ‘We wanted to fill KeyKegs as fast and flexibly as possible, and combine it with other drinks containers, such as bottles and steel kegs. We selected the company m+f KEGtechnik which has a lot of experience with KeyKeg filling lines. The installation went very smoothly and we are now filling around 40 KeyKegs per hour fully automatically.

Gudjon goes on to mention his expectations for the future: ”KeyKegs are enabling our logistics to enter new markets without us having to develop complicated and costly return systems. Besides that, KeyKegs are becoming more popular in the hospitality industry because they make it possible to supply a wide range of craft beers”.

Following the success of Einstök beer in KeyKegs, Vifilfell is planning to supply all its beers in KeyKegs, including the renowned White Ale, Arctic Pale Ale and Toasted Porter.
