Lightweight Containers is opening a new production line in Grossbreitenbach, Germany. The fully automated line will be operational in the third quarter of this year and can produce all the members of the KeyKeg family. PET-Verpackungen Deutschland is the partner for the daily production output.
The production capacity of the new line will enable Lightweight Containers to meet the strong growth in demand in that region in the coming years. Anita Veenendaal, Chief Commercial Officer of Lightweight Containers, says: “We see service as a crucial element of our success. We aim to provide the best service, with our production line as close as possible to our customers. The new location and extra capacity will further reduce delivery times and transport distances”.
Concentration on solutions for the total supply chain
The new factory is being set up in close cooperation with production partner PET-Verpackungen Deutschland. Jan Veenendaal, CEO of Lightweight Containers, explains: ”We want to continue concentrating on solutions and crucial trends for the drinks industry. This is made possible through cooperation with a professional and flexible production partner such as PET-Verpackungen, which entirely fits with our vision on quality.”
KeyKegs are now manufactured in three locations: Schwerin in Germany, Den Helder in the Netherlands and Joliet in the United States. The line in Grossbreitenbach, Germany, will be operational in the third quarter of 2016. See the Lightweight Containers press release here.
