Wine by the glass,’ or more often ‘wine by the barrel,’ is becoming more popular in Europe and the United States. The concept is also catching on in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Russia and Scandinavia. KeyKeg International Account Manager and wine expert Edwin Dasbach says ”We’re noticing that even a traditional and conservative country like France is starting to show interest in wine by the glass. KeyKegs are catching on even faster in other countries. In the United States, it’s booming. One out of every four inquiries about KeyKeg is now from the wine sector. KeyKeg is perceived more and more as a quality keg system with some advantageous characteristics. Not only are KeyKegs lightweight and space-saving when compared to glass bottles, wines tend to keep better once the keg has been tapped. Due to these advantages, we are seeing more and more bars that prefer wine from KeyKegs.” Many of the winemakers and distributors using KeyKeg can be found on www.keykegusers.com.

The environmentally friendly one-way keg

We take our environment into account, even during the design phase. A KeyKeg more than meets European Union environmental criteria. The KeyKeg Slimline will eventually be made from over 50% recycled PET, and our goal is to recycle every KeyKeg to produce new KeyKegs.
