In memoriam: David Verhaeghe | KeyKeg
David Verhaeghe is a well-known name in the world of beverages and circular kegs. His impact and influence gave sustainable kegs a boost in Belgium and France over recent years.
His passing on 28-07-2022 in his Belgian hometown Bruges, at the age of 50, is a huge loss. It is a loss felt by everyone who works, has worked and is a partner or customer at OneCircle.
Since 2017, David was Senior Account Manager Belgium and France with OneCircle (KeyKeg | UniKeg).
His inexhaustible energy put KeyKeg firmly on the map, especially in Belgium and France. David was always welcomed at breweries and wineries across the region. Many glasses of beer or wine are now professionally tapped from KeyKegs in the Belgian and French hospitality sector, thanks to David. David was also a mentor for new sales colleagues within our organisation, personally introducing them to customers or taking them to various fairs, events and beer or wine festivals.
David was also passionately committed to building a collection network in Belgium and France, ensuring empty KeyKegs are collected and recycled. His success in doing this since 2019 laid the foundation for today’s growing KeyKeg collection network in the region.
We greatly admire the way David dealt with his illness. His fighting spirit to make the most of life, to enjoy himself with friends and loved ones while he could, leaves a lasting impression on us all.
David said in a December 2020 interview with De Krant van West-Vlaanderen: “I am playing a match against my brain tumor, but victory is in sight!” Unfortunately, David lost this match on 28 July 2022.
